The next machine is the resaw. Large cants from the canter are sent to the resaw, a double bandsaw machine similar to the sharp chain and canter but without chipper heads.
The cant is simply cut into two or three boards, depending on the cant size, and they are sent to the trimmer. The sawdust falls onto the conveyor system under the mill.
